New Delhi: Hansika Motwani came to fame after playing a young performer on the TV programme ‘Shaka Laka Boom Boom’ and then starring with Hrithik Roshan in the film ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. Her 2007 debut as the female lead in Himesh Reshammiya's ‘Aap Kaa Surroor’ was met with harsh criticism, however. Hansika's mother allegedly injected her with growth hormone for her daughter's sudden maturity. Neither she nor her mother, Mona Motwani, had ever spoken publicly about the allegations until now.
The most recent episode of Hansika's ‘Love Shaadi Drama’ featured her comforting her mother, who was freaked out by what was published about the subsequent negative press coverage about Hansika’s wedding. The actress brought up the period when rumours circulated that her mother had given her hormone injections.
Talking to her mom, Hansika can be heard saying, "This is the expense of being a celebrity. They wrote such crap when I was 21, you know what I am talking about… If I could have taken it that time, I can take it this time. People said that my mum has given me injections, hormonal injections to grow up as a woman.”
Her mom then said, "If that is true, then I must be richer than Tata, Birla, some millionaire. If that is true, then I would have said, ‘Maine apni beti ko diya hai, tum bhi aao, aa kar apni haddi baddi karvao. What I am surprised about is that people who write this, unke pass dimaag naam ki cheez nahi hoti hai kya? We are Punjabi people, our daughters shoot up between the age of 12 and 16."
Meanwhile, 'Hansika's Love Shaadi Drama' airs every Friday on Disney+ Hotstar, providing an inside look into her royal wedding, which took place in Jaipur in the December of 2022.
