New Delhi: Singer Kanika Kapoor recently tied the wedding with Gautam Hathiramani, a businessman residing in London. The ceremony took place on May 20 with a lot of fun. Raj Chandok, the singer's ex-husband, and she divorced in 2012. However, after being alone for ten years, Kanika has finally found her 'happiness’. 


For the first time since her divorce from Gautam, Kanika talks openly about her decision to remarry, her 15-year relationship with Gautam, and how her three children have welcomed this new chapter in her life.



As a divorcee with three children, Kanika was wary about being welcomed into Gautam's family. In an interview with ETimes, Kanika said, “The fact that I am divorced with three children, I wasn’t sure whether I would be accepted by him and his family. But I was wrong. Today, I want to tell women that no matter what the circumstances, in the end, happiness awaits you.”


Kanika added that for the last ten years, she has been lonely. She said, “For the last 10 years, I was lonely. I am happy that I am married now. As an artiste, I might be surrounded by people and perform in front of a huge crowd, but after those work hours, I would feel lonely.”



Mother of three, Kanika said that she was worried about her children's response to her remarrying. She opened, “I would be lying if I said that they didn’t feel anxious about it. I remember a few days before the wedding, my youngest daughter said to me, ‘Now we are going to give you away.’ I was surprised by that reaction and told her that not just me, we all are marrying him because you all are a part of me. Having said that, my kids have been very gracious about this new development in my life. Also, they have known Gautam for a long time, too.”


Kanika Kapoor married at the age of 18 and moved to London. Several years later, she filed for divorce and moved to the city with her three children to raise them all by herself.
