Sonu Sood Adds Another Feather To His Cap; Leaves Behind Bollywood Superstars SRK And Akshay Kumar In Twitter Engagement Race
Last month, the ‘Dabbang’ actor has been appointed as the State Icon of Punjab by the Election Commission of India. Adding another feather to his cap, Sonu Sood has been honoured by the Arts and Humanities department of Sarat Chandra IAS Academy, Sarat Chandra Degree College and Sarat Chandra Junior College in Andhra Pradesh. The Arts and Humanities department of the umbrella institution has been named after the ‘Entertainment’ actor. The department is now known as the ‘Sonu Sood Department of Arts and Humanities’.
Speaking about the same, Sonu Sood said, “I am extremely humbled and grateful. I feel fortunate that I received the opportunity to help whoever was in need. And now that such a big institute has honoured my actions, I will only be motivated to keep being there for those who need me.”
In the month of October, the ‘Jodha Akbar’ actor came up with a new scholarship programme to support the IAS aspirants and help them fulfil their dreams. The scholarships will be available to students for online and on-campus courses. He named the scholarship programme after his mother Professor Saroj Sood.
The actor took to his social media to make the announcement, “October 13; 13 years since My Mother passed. She left behind a legacy of Education. On her anniversary today, I pledge to support IAS aspirants reach their goals thru Prof Saroj Sood Scholarships. Seeking blessings Miss u maa. @scholify_me.”
On the professional front, Sonu Sood will be next seen in Akshay Kuma starrer 'Prithviraj' and 'Thamilarasan'.
