New Delhi: Rapper Honey Singh, who battled with bipolar disorder, has revealed that Deepika Padukone was the one to recommend a doctor when he was unsure about who to see.
In a recent interview, the singer mentioned the Bollywood celebrities that helped him when he was struggling with his mental health. He stated that Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar both gave him support during the time and that they sometimes called him.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Honey Singh revealed strong support he got and said,“Sabne bahut support kia. Jab main bilkul kharab hua to samajh nahi aaraha tha kis doctor ke paas jayein. Deepika ko same to nahi problem hui thi, unko laga meri jaisi problem hai, mera case bahut serious tha. Deepika ne gharwalo ko ek doctor Delhi mein suggest kia, unke pas gaya main (Everyone gave me a lot of support. I had no idea which doctor to see when my situation worsened. Deepika had dealt with a similar issue. My situation was quite serious. I visited the medical professional who Deepika had recommended my family)."
“Baaki Shah Rukh bhai ne kafi support kia, Akshay paji ke phone aate they. Main phone pe bhi baat nahi karta tha. 5 sal maine phone pe baat nahi ki kisi se, 3 saal maine television nahi dekha. Running information mujhe trigger karti thi (Akshay used to call me and Shah Rukh Khan supported me a lot. I stopped talking on the phone for five years and avoided watching TV for three years because running news used to trigger me)," he added.
The musician previously spoke candidly about his mental health, his battle with depression, and how he came to become an alcoholic. In an interview to Brut India, Yo Yo Honey Singh discussed why it took him so long to get better. "Bhai mental health ek aisi bimari he jiske bohut saari variations he. Ye main batana chahunga saare mere chote bhaiyon ko... ki iske bohut saare colours he, anxiety, depression kuch bhi nhi he... woh ek sardi zukham he. Mujhe Covid-19 huya tha mental health ka. Ise psychotic's symptom of bipolar disorder bolte he bohut dangerous chiz he, kisiko bhi na ho,mere dushman ko bhi na ho.. aisi cheez he. I prayed for death every day, every night," he said.
Following the release of his latest album 3.0, Honey Singh has returned to the music industry. He is currently seeing actor Tina Thadani after finalising his divorce.
