New Delhi: 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' has taken the box office by storm. This Karan Johar-directed film aims to shatter society's baseless norms and send a number of messages, including the ability to accept cultural differences between communities and welcome them with open arms. A few segments of the movie have stuck to the audience and will probably be remembered for years to come. The iconic shopping expedition scene was one among them.

Rocky, played by Ranveer Singh, is seen in the scene looking forward to going shopping with Rani's mother. After that, he feels uneasy being there or even touching a bra. This is when Rani's mother tells him about how men find touching a woman's bra unpleasant or embarrassing, despite the fact that their mothers and spouses have been washing their underwears for years.

In a chat with ABP Live, Churni Ganguly who played Rani's mother in the film discussed the importance of that scene and said that the message needed to be sent across.

She said, "It is meant to be sent a message across. It is nothing to be ashamed or frightened of pronounding the word or touching lingerie. This is why there is this part where my character says, 'centuries se aurat log aadmi ke chaddis ghis ghis ghis ke dho rahe hai'. That 'ghis ghis ghis' was something that Karan and I incorporated. He told me to use this 'ghis ghis ghis' to put it across that it's alright to be touching lingerie and underwear and bras and its alright to pronounce these words because these are names of garment pieces. And, I think there are many people who have got in touch and said that the message reached."

"In our society it is very rare that a man goes for lingerie shopping for a woman, so that is something which does not happen, while it is okay the other way round. I think that message was needed to be sent across."

Apart from 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', Churni Ganguly has also worked in Bengali films like 'Ardhangini', 'Nirbashito'.
