Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced Union Budget 2021 on Monday. With this, Actor Shatrughan Sinha has come forward with his thoughts. In an interview, he told Pinkvilla, 'We all know Film industry is facing a lot of problems but the Centre is not at all bothered about it. They have allowed 100 per cent occupancy in theatres but there is already a clash with the states that will decide the occupancy, and if they allow only 50 percent occupancy, then it will become very difficult for film industry to survive.'


Government of India has allowed 100 percent occupancy of theatres few days back and issued a new SOPs to be followed. Information and Broadcasting Industry said in a statement, 'Audiences may be encouraged to avoid movement during the intermission. Longer intermissions may be used to allow the audience seated in different rows of the auditorium to move in a staggered manner'.


Though film shooting has resumed in most parts o0f the country but theatrical opening remains a less-profit area for people belonging to film industry. The films which are being released in theatres have underperformed.


This year, the budget was aimed at boosting the economy which is reeling under the devastating impact of the coronavirus lockdown. 'This budget provided every opportunity for the economy to capture the pace it needs for sustainable growth,' said the finance minister.
