New Delhi: Canadian singer and Grammy winner Celine Dion broke the news that she has Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), a neurological disorder. Dion told her supporters that she was surrounded by a great medical staff and that her beloved children were there to help her through this difficult time.
After being diagnosed with a rare neurological condition, singer Celine Dion cancelled all of her forthcoming UK and Europe shows. Celine Dion said in a heartfelt Instagram video that she has been unable to walk or sing due to this medical problem.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, she said, “While we're still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what's been causing all of the spasms I've been having. Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life. Sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to.”
The singer apologised to her fans, saying, "It hurts me to tell you today that this means I will not be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February."
The first time the public heard about Dion's SPS was in October 2021, when she delayed the start of her Las Vegas residency due to "severe and persistent" muscle spasms.
