New Delhi: Actress Zareen Khan entered the film industry with the period war drama 'Veer', in which she was paired opposite Salman Khan. At the time, the actress was often compared to Katrina Kaif as many people saw her as a doppelganger. The actress recently appeared in a podcast of comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya where she talked about this comparison and how it affected her.

Zareen Khan clarified that she was happy being compared with Katrina Kaif. She said, “Main toh bohot khush hui thi. Hello! Katrina Kaif. She is so beautiful. Agar koi 100 kilo ke jo background se aa raha hai wo insaan. For me, maine itna weight lose kiya, fir bhi mujhe aisa lagta hai.. I am still like a fat person. Toh uss insaan ko tum bol rahe ho ye katrina kaif toh wo toh matlab my god katrina kaif.”

She also added, “I think the way things were said in the industry went very wrong and I did not understand it. I said this is a good thing, so even though from childhood. Till now everyone has told me that I look like my mother, but if they think I look like Katrina, then that is really a nice thing. I am so happy looking like Katrina Kaif but that backfired badly.”

Zareen Khan on Not Getting Work After ‘Veer’

Zareen Khan also talked about how she was jobless after ‘Veer’. The actress was asked whether she had specific preferences for scripts. She answered, “Choosy abhi hui hu, pehle toh choosy nahi thi. Kaam hi nahi tha. Jab ‘Veer’ release hui, itni badi picture, itna sab kuch. jo saara backfire hua, saara criticism wo mere god me aaya tha. Uss wajah se mujhe kaafi time tak kaam nahi tha. Aur Character Dheela jab gaana aaya uske baad, logo ka thoda perception change hua (I have become choosy now. Earlier, I was not choosy. There was no work. When ‘Veer’ was released, such a big film, but all the backfire that happened, all the criticism, it fell on my lap. Because of that, I did not have work for a long time. Then, ‘Character Dheela’ song came. After that people's perception changed a bit).”
