New Delhi: Taapsee Pannu recently discussed her strained relationship with the paparazzi in an interview with Fever FM. She expressed her disinterest in appeasing photographers, accusing them of misusing her statements and videos for their commercial gain.
On Negative News Getting More Attention
Taapsee remarked on how negative news tends to attract more clicks than positive stories, stating, "Tell me, when was the last time you clicked on positive news? This kind of news is more sensational. 'She's being nasty and rude to paparazzi,' so everyone is like, 'What happened? Let's see.' That is more exciting for an audience."
Why She Doesn't Appease the Paparazzi
Taapsee explained that pandering to the paparazzi doesn't help her career, as her films speak for themselves. She said, "These things aren't fetching me films. My films speak for themselves. So I don't have to appease a section of so-called media. I don't even call them direct media because they're serving their vested interest to get clicks on their portal. I don't call them media. Media is not supposed to desperately put out lines or videos that are just clickbait."
Taapsee also mentioned that paparazzi often invade her personal space, coming too close, shouting at her, or chasing her car. She emphasized that she doesn't want to feel apologetic about her privilege and simply wants her privacy and personal space to be respected.
Upcoming Projects and Personal Life
Taapsee is set to appear in the films 'Phir Haseen Dillruba' and 'Khel Khel Mein.' Recently, she took a break from her busy promotional schedule to visit Paris, where she supported her husband Mathias Boe, the coach of India's men's badminton doubles team at the Paris Olympics. She shared a photo on her Instagram Stories with her sister Shagun Pannu on a Vistara flight to the French capital.
