During a chat with director Imtiaz Ali, Ranbir attributed Imtiaz's polite demeanour, specifically his use of "sir," to be from the South Indian film industry. However, Imtiaz quickly corrected him, saying, "I am not even from the South. You're more South than I am."

The conversation took a more amusing turn when Ranbir asked if Jamshedpur, Imtiaz's hometown, was south of Bombay. Imtiaz humorously replied, "No, South of Bombay is Colaba sir," leaving Ranbir visibly confused.
