Ranbir Kapoor's shocking ignorance of Indian geography is on full display in a recently surfaced video. Fans and internet users were left disappointed by a humorous and unexpected geographic blunder when Ranbir mistakenly believed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali was from the South. For the unversed, the duo is known for their successful collaborations in films like 'Rockstar' and 'Tamasha'.
Hilarious Exchange Between Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali
During a chat with director Imtiaz Ali, Ranbir attributed Imtiaz's polite demeanour, specifically his use of "sir," to be from the South Indian film industry. However, Imtiaz quickly corrected him, saying, "I am not even from the South. You're more South than I am."
The conversation took a more amusing turn when Ranbir asked if Jamshedpur, Imtiaz's hometown, was south of Bombay. Imtiaz humorously replied, "No, South of Bombay is Colaba sir," leaving Ranbir visibly confused.

Online Backlash
Many Reddit users have been mocking Ranbir Kapoor for his lack of geography knowledge since the old footage went viral online. One user jokingly said, "No...he genuinely thinks that Jamshedpur is a Southern state. No wonder he barely got through his board exams." Another one asked, "Do these Bolly kids even go to school?"
Given that Ranbir was in his 30s at the time, his error provoked a discussion regarding geography knowledge. Many started to question whether or not celebs even need to learn the basics of geography. A user pointed out, "I'm pretty sure kids in Mumbai have geography classes & even if that's not the case then still by the time you're in your 30s you should know the basic geography of your country, bro."
