R Madhavan advised everyone to witness the childbirth. He said, “Jaana toh chaiye”.

He said that people would develop a deeper appreciation for their parents and spouses. He said, “jitni respect hai aapko biwi ka wo 10 guna zyada badh jayega aur sabse zyada toh aapke maa baap ke liye jo respect hai wo aur 100 guna badh jayega. Toh main chahta hu jab aapke biwi ka delivery ho aur agar mumkil hai toh aap saamne jaaye aur dekhe ki kya hota hai (The respect you have for your wife will increase 10 times and most of all, the respect you have for your parents will increase 100 times. So. I want that when your wife delivers her baby and if it is possible, you should go in front of them and see what happens).”

He described the terrifying sensation of seeing his wife in such a painful condition. He also joked that the doctor was more worried that he might pass seeing the childbirth.

Madhavan On Getting Wife’s Support

In a 2016 interview with Indian Express, R. Madhavan credited his wife Sarita for being there for him during the difficult days of producing ‘Saala Khadoos’. He said, "My wife supported me during those days. She told me that it wouldn’t matter even if we came back to that one bedroom apartment in Mumbai where we started from. I saw my wife telling our son that we can’t go on holidays because he has to study but the truth was that I didn’t have any money as I had put everything into the film."
