New Delhi: After wrestler Vinesh Phogat returned from the 2024 Paris Olympics, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan reached out to her in a heartfelt gesture that captivated the hearts of fans. In the women's 50kg freestyle wrestling final, Phogat faced disqualification as she was overweight. Her outstanding performance was nonetheless lauded all around the country, even after this setback.

Aamir Khan video-called Vinesh Phogat to congratulate her on her spectacular Olympic trip, a kind gesture that lifted the wrestler's spirits. The video call picture has gone viral on social media. It also included Kripa Shankar, a veteran wrestler who taught the actors in ‘Dangal’.

A fan page shared pictures taken during their video chat in which Aamir and Vinesh can be seen smiling. The page captioned the photo, “Good touch from Aamir Khan. Over a video call, he congratulated Vinesh Phogat for her stupendous fight in Paris. Reminded her that her three fights were proof of her champion mentality. Former wrestler Kripa Shankar (also in the pic), who was mentor for the actors of 'Dangal'.”

Fans are going wild over this encounter, with many wondering whether Aamir Khan and Vinesh Phogat would team up for another sports drama, maybe a follow-up to the 2016 smash hit ‘Dangal’. A user wrote, "Dangal 2 is on its way!" while another one said, "A lovable moment."
