New Delhi: Vikrant Massey, who has been riding high on the success of '12th fail' recently found himself in a heated argument with a cab driver over the fare. A video of the same, captured by the driver seems to be doing the rounds on social media. Many fans and netizens are questioning the authenticity of the video while others are calling it a mere promotional stunt.

Vikrant Massey arguing with a cab driver

In the video, Vikrant is seen arguing about the cab fare, which he claims is higher than what was being shown on the app. Meanwhile, the driver argues that the app increased the app itself, and it was not his doing. He accused Vikrant and said, "My name is Ashish. I am a cab driver. I have dropped my passenger at his location but he is not giving me money and he is abusing me verbally.”

When the camera is turned towards Vikrant, the actor tries it with his hand and says, "Why have you taken out the camera? Are you threatening me? I am justified here. How has the amount increased on the app? This will not work.” To this, the driver says, "How is this my fault? You earn so much money. Why are you arguing?” Massey replies by saying, "It doesn’t matter whose money it is. It is hard earned money.”

While the video looks genuine, many netizens and fans believe that it might be a part of some promotional strategy rather than a real-life incident. A fan also wrote, "Movie promotion ka tareeka thoda cazual hai.” Another wrote, "Yeah this seems like some publicity gimmick for his upcoming series/film. And where did he get violent, that’s not visible..” While a netizen reinstated, "One min silence for those who think it’s real😂.”

Many actors have done publicity stunts, some of which have not gone down well with their fans. Remember Kajol Devgan deleting all her social media posts to promote her TV show 'The Trial' or Poonam Pandey faking her own death.
