New Delhi: Vijay Deverakonda made many revelatory statements about Liger’s failure, his marriage plans on a serious note, his upcoming film 'Kushi' and so much more. The 'Liger' actor also spoke about feminism and addressed how it was worth waiting for Samantha when she needed time to recover. When Vijay was asked if he wanted to say something on Samantha's behalf, Vijay said she sent her love. He also gestured with some flying kisses.

Speaking about working with Samantha, he said that before working with her, he had a crush on as an actor but now that he has worked with her, he knows her as a person.

Vijay also added, "I am feeling sad sitting alone on a sofa promoting a love story".

When a journalist asked him about saying he was a feminist, Vijay jokingly replied, "Everyone is tripping on this feminist thing." In the same question, he elaborated that when Samantha was on a break to recover, "There was no other option but to wait."

When the journalist suggested that in most scenarios, Samantha or any other actor could have been replaced, but in 'Kushi' and 'Shaakuntalam', makers decided to wait for her to get well. Vijay added, "There was no other option, I do not think we did something great or benevolent, we were ok to wait, we were in no great hurry, we know how much she matters, and how much she contributes to a film. She matters, everybody said we wait."

" We had finished the first half and I thought and even told Shiva ( director), what if we wait 10 years. We end at the marriage, pause this film, and make this film about the journey over these years' and we would laugh about it.

At one point, Devarakonda added that he thought of opening a tiffin centre at Vijayawada honouring Samantha. Vijay said he asked Shiva, "Should we open a tiffin centre, since we are not shooting, we'll call it a Samantha idli stall in her honour and send her some idlis."

Vijay then thanked Samantha for working so hard on 'Kushi'.

Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are collaborating for the second time together. The two were last seen together in 'Mahanti'.

Samantha is on a year long break from her film career so as to recover from her autoimmune condition-myositis.

Meanwhile, 'Kushi' will be released on September 1.
