New Delhi: British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is currently in India for his second concert tour. The singer dedicated the first day of his visit to spreading musical joy at a local school. The 33-year-old musician is gearing up for his Mumbai concert this Saturday (March 16) as part of the final leg of his +–=÷× Tour (Mathematics) in Asia and Europe for 2024 at Mahalaxmi Race Course Grounds.
The Grammy-winning singer shared moments from his visit to a local school on Instagram Reels, showcasing his interaction with enthusiastic students. In the video, Sheeran expressed his excitement, saying, "So, just arrived in Mumbai, India. We are going to be visiting some schools today, playing some songs. I also heard that the kids have something to play for me as well."
During his visit to the school, Sheeran immersed himself in the lively performances of the young students, sitting among the crowd. He later took up his guitar and treated the children to a rendition of his hit song 'Shape of You.'
Sharing the experience on Instagram, Sheeran wrote, “Visited a school in Mumbai this morning and swapped performances with the kids, so much fun. Great being back in India too!”
Fans flooded the comments section with admiration, with singer Armaan Malik expressing his sentiments with a red heart emoticon.
The upcoming concert on Saturday is set to kick off at 3 pm with performances by Prateek Kuhad and Calum Scott, with Ed Sheeran taking the stage at 7:15 pm.
This marks Sheeran's second visit to the country, following his earlier trip in 2017.
