New Delhi: Tamil actor Mohan, who is known for his supporting parts in films from the late 1980s and early 1990s, died at the age of 60. He was discovered dead on a roadway in Madurai's Thiruparankundram district, Tamil Nadu. For a long period, the actor had been in severe poverty and had struggled to find a job. Mohan's wife died years before, and he primarily survived on begging since then. Mohan didn't receive any acting opportunities and was forced to beg and live on the streets.
According to ANI, Mohan's dead body was found on the street on July 31, and the Thiruparankundram police sent it to the Madurai Government Hospital for post-mortem testing. The police also notified his family members in Salem, and his body was carried back to his hometown after the post-mortem. Mohan reportedly has two brothers and three sisters who all live in Salem.
As of yet, no foul play has been detected by authorities, and Mohan is believed to have died of natural causes due to his severe condition. Police have not released any further information regarding this.
Mohan was a well-known actor in Tamil cinema. His breakthrough role was in Kamal Haasan's 'Apoorva Sagodharargal', which was released in 1989. In the film, he portrayed one of Kamal Haasan's pals.
In addition to 'Apoorva Sagotharargal,' he appeared in 'Naan Kadavul,' 'Athisaya Manithargal,' and other films. Despite the fact that Mohan often portrayed characters with less importance and screen time, the actor gave each of his roles a particular flare.
A few weeks ago, another Tamil actor called Prabhu died of cancer in a government hospital in Chennai. Prabhu was also suffering from poverty. Music composer D Imman eventually contributed money to his family for his last rites.
