New Delhi: The untimely demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020 continues to evoke sorrow and unanswered questions among his family, friends and fans. As the fourth anniversary of his death approaches, his sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, has taken to social media to urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the ongoing case. She urged for updates on the investigation conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
In a heartfelt video shared on her Instagram account, Shweta Singh Kirti expressed her family's frustration over the lack of progress in the probe into her brother's death. She began by addressing Prime Minister Modi, stating, "Namaste. I am Shweta Singh Kirti. I am Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister. I am recording this message for our Prime Minister Modi ji. I wanted to bring to your attention that this is the 45th month of Bhai’s passing away and we still don’t know any updates on the investigation that is being conducted by the CBI.”
Expressing the family's and the nation's collective quest for truth, Shweta highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Modi's intervention in providing closure to the grieving hearts and restoring faith in the judiciary system. She said, "I would highly request your (PM Modi) intervention into the matter because as a family and as a country, we are grappling with so many answered questions in this case. Your attention will really help us to get to know where the CBI has reached in its investigation. It will even help us to inculcate the faith within our judiciary system."
It was June 14, 2020, when Sushant Singh Rajput's body was discovered in his flat in Bandra. Despite the initial reports suggesting suicide, his family and close ones demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
