New Delhi: Actors Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan didn’t speak to each other for 16 years after co-starring in Yash Chopra’s 1993 film Darr, Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol went 16 years. The actors recently buried the hatchet at the 'Gadar 2' success party and hugged each other. Now, Sunny Deol has opened up about his fight with Shah Rukh on the sets of Dar and called the incident childish.
In a recent conversation on Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny Deol said that they have moved past the fight. He said, ““Definitely, definitely. Woh zamana (those days) when it happened, that was a different time. I say 'People, forget what happened in those days'. One understands such things should not have happened. It was 'bachpana' (childish), definitely. After that, Shah Rukh and I met several times and spoke to each other about many things. We also talked about some movies. This time, he was watching my film with his entire family. And he called me up. Toh sab cheezen bahut badhiya hai. Sab kuch bahut badhiya (everything is fine now).”
During the filming of Dar, Sunny had certain objections about how his character was portrayed and how SRK’s character, despite being an antagonist, was glorified. In an earlier appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, he had spoken about what happened on the set. “I had a heated discussion with Yash Chopra regarding that scene. I tried to explain that I am a commando officer in the film. My character is an expert and physically fit, so how can this boy easily defeat me? He can only defeat me if I can’t see him. If he can stab me while I’m looking at him, then I won’t be considered a commando,” he had said.
He had also admitted about not taking to SRK after the film but the reason was that he does not socialise much and does not attend parties and functions.
