New Delhi: Actor Suniel Shetty advised people to reach out to those they know are experiencing stress, in the wake of famous art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai's alleged suicide. Desai was discovered dead at his Karjat, Maharashtra studio, ND Studio, on August 2. This prompted speculation that he may have committed himself as a result of financial difficulties.
Suniel hailed Desai as one of the most modest art directors and the "finest" talent in an interview with The Free Press Journal. "The most crucial issue is: What was it that broke him to give in to this? There is a saying which goes as, "God always wants the good ones with him." Is he in need of them? I have no idea. My sincere sympathies.
Suniel Shetty responded that the late actor was a "wonderful child" who accomplished a lot in his life when questioned about Sushant Singh Rajput, an actor who reportedly committed suicide in 2020. Suniel added, "And then God takes him away… What was the moment when he did what he did? You feel for his parents, his family. Reaching out is important. If we know someone and if at all we know he/she is going through any sort of stress, we should reach out to them. We should be constantly calling out and keep inquiring about their well-being."
Mansi Desai, Nitin Desai's daughter, revealed to ANI that her father had taken out a loan from a company for Rs 181 crore, of which he had paid back Rs 86.31 crore. According to Desai's daughter, her father had no desire to cheat anyone.
"He was going to fulfil his pledge to pay everything. My father met the lenders' demand for a six-month interest advance by selling his Powai office. He was going to fulfil all the payments he had promised, and he had no intention of defrauding anyone," Mansi told ANI.
