Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul welcomed their baby girl, Evaarah, in March this year. The much-awaited news was celebrated by fans, friends, and family alike. As Athiya celebrated her first Mother’s Day this year, her father, veteran actor Suniel Shetty, shared a heartfelt throwback picture of himself holding baby Athiya in his arms.
Now a proud grandfather, Suniel Shetty opened up about Athiya’s strength and grace as a new mother during an interview with News18.
Suniel Shetty on Athiya’s Natural Delivery
Revealing an intimate detail from Athiya's delivery, Suniel said, “In a world where everybody wants the comfort of having a caesarean baby, she chose not to do that and had a natural delivery. I remember how every nurse and paediatrician in the hospital said that it’s unbelievable how she went through the whole process.”
The experience deeply moved Suniel Shetty as a father.
“That hit me. I was like, ‘Wow, she’s ready!’ Athiya was very, very strong to do that,” he added.
Giving Credit to Mana Shetty
Suniel also credited his wife Mana Shetty for being a source of strength and inspiration to their daughter.
“Her mother is a strong woman herself, and Athiya probably soaked in all of that from her,” he said.
Praising Athiya further, he added, “She’s such a beautiful mother. Not once has she shown any kind of stress or frown or shown that she’s tired or exhausted.”
Athiya Has Embraced Motherhood Gracefully
Suniel Shetty continued to express his admiration for how Athiya has transitioned into her new role:“Athiya has embraced motherhood like a fish to water. She’s absolutely fantastic. Every father thinks of their daughters as little babies... I wondered if she’d be able to handle motherhood, but she’s unbelievable!”
He added, “I keep telling Mana every single day how proud I am of Athiya. The way she has adapted to this new life, how she handled the delivery – she took everything in her stride.”
KL Rahul’s Heartfelt Tribute to Athiya
Recently, KL Rahul also shared an unseen picture of Athiya holding baby Evaarah close. Alongside the photo, he penned an emotional note praising her strength, grace, and patience.
He wrote that watching Athiya embrace motherhood has made him fall even more in love with her and said that their daughter is incredibly lucky to have Athiya as her mother.
