New Delhi: Actor Suchitra Krishnamoorthi recently opened up about her former husband, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur’s infidelity. She accused the filmmaker of cheating when they were married. Amidst these claims by Suchitra, Shekhar Kapur on Wednesday took to Instagram and shared a long poem about how he is “only human.”
Shekhar shared a blurred monochrome picture of himself with the poem that read, “I am jealous, and greedy and angry and I hurt I love and i hate I mean well but manipulate I am confused and riddled with doubt of course i am I am after all only human and yet I long I yearn I aspire to be compassionate to be creative to be wholento be infinite I am spiritual too I am two but one must live with the other with compassion with forgiveness till i am only one but till then I must learn to be two I am after all only human #compassion #jealous #infinite #me #you #human #compassionate #poetry #poem @kaverikapur."
Shekhar and Suchitra were married for nine years before they separated. In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Suchitra admitted that Shekhar cheated during their marriage. She said, “I don’t think marriages break because of infidelity, they break up because of disrespect.”
She shared that the problems started early in their marriage and as she was thinking about leaving the marriage, she got pregnant. “At the time I got pregnant, I was about to leave my marriage. I got a scholarship at the Berkeley School of Music and wanted to learn music but then I got pregnant. So, I feel fate has a way of unravelling itself. After getting pregnant, I stayed for a few years, but then I said, ‘Forget it, mujhse nahi hota,’” she told Kannan.
She also spoke about how their separation affected their daughter Kaveri. “She is definitely very affected by what happened between me and Shekhar. Every parent does the best they can. Every child has trauma, especially children in broken homes of public figures. Imagine that child being told by others, ‘Maine ye suna, maine ye padhaa, kya aisa hai (I read this. I heard that. Is that true?)’ and children aren’t equipped to deal with this. They are very sensitive. It’s a very delicate… They are trying to balance their affection between their parents, so it’s a very tricky situation for them,” she said.
