Sharmin Sehgal old video: Sharmin Sehgal, who played Alamzeb in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, has been the target of criticism for her acting skills. Netizens have called her performance expressionless in the series that also stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha and Sanjeeda Sheikh among others. Sharmin's clip from Malaal

A clip featuring Sharmin and Meezaan Jafri from ‘Malaal’ shows a cute scene between the two actors in which the former asked Meezan to quit smoking. Netizens have reacted to the video and praised Sharmin’s acting in the scene, wondering why she was “expressionless” in Heeramandi.

Netizens react to the clip

A user wrote, “Here she is acting better what happen in the series.” Another wrote, “Wait?? Then how did she get so bad???”

“I think botox ruined her face even if she trying to give expressions all lines gone u don't see or feel any expressions,” read another comment.

“Surgery destroyed her pretty look and acting also,” wrote another user. Another person commented, “Then why did she forgot to give expressions in Heeramandi?”

“She's not wearing anyyy lip fillers here it's all natural so it's easier for her to deliver lines but in her recent project she had done so many surgeries along with Botox that she couldn't move her facial muscles,” remarked another user.

A user came in support of her and said that her character in the web series was of an introvert. “I think the problem was not her.. its the way her scenes were filmed. The camera focused on her every time she was delivering her dialogue which creates illusion/confusion on our mind because we do not see the other person in the frame. Moreover, her role was kind of a introvert, soft person. SLB wanted to capture her emotions through her eyes and focused so much into her face that her expression and the body language couldn't align with her body and felt flat only when camera focused on her. It happened most of the time because on majority of the scenes, camera was into her face. But, check the scenes where its wide angle, she looks beautiful and decent considering she is just a newbie. Overall, i found her good enough.”

Sharmin's Heeramandi co-stars support her

Meanwhile, Sharmin's co-stars from the series are supporting her amid all trolling. Taha Shah Badussha, who essayed the role of Sharmin's love interest Tajdar said, "I have worked with her and I do know as an actor she has tried her best. I literally felt that people would not give me any love, but not the way I am getting. So, the audience can react in a very unpredictable way, to be very honest."

Aditi Rao Hydari, who portrayed Bibbojaan in the period drama, criticised trolls, describing them as "mean."
