Shark Tank India Season 4 is all set to premiere in January 2024. Anupam Mittal, a consistent face on the show since season 1, recently made a comment, seemingly directed at Ashneer Grover, who was part of the show only in its inaugural season.

Anupam Mittal's dig on Ashneer Grover

In an interview with Mashable India, Anupam was shown a nostalgic photo featuring the original panel from Season 1, captured during their appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati. The photo included Anupam Mittal alongside other Season 1 sharks: Ashneer Grover, Aman Gupta, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, and Vineeta Singh, as they shared a moment with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. Looking at the image, Anupam said, “Oh, this is from KBC. I know this photo is from Season 1 because some of the sharks aren’t with us. May their soul rest in peace.”

Though lighthearted, the remark was seen as a veiled reference to Ashneer Grover’s absence from subsequent seasons of the business reality show.

Anupam Mittal recalls being at KBC

Anupam spoke fondly about the panel’s first meeting with Amitabh Bachchan, calling it a significant moment in their journey. He shared, “This was the first time we were on KBC, and it was very intimidating for us because Mr Bachchan is a living legend. We had only watched KBC as fans until that point. It was a dream come true to meet him and hear him call us by our names. It is a highlight in our Shark Tank India journey over the last four years.”

Ashneer Grover, who co-founded BharatPe, was a key presence in Shark Tank India Season 1. However, he has not returned to the panel since, while Anupam Mittal, the founder and CEO of Shaadi.com and People Group, remains one of the show’s most prominent and consistent judges.

Shark Tank India Season 4

With Shark Tank India gearing up for its fourth season, viewers can expect both new and familiar faces on the judging panel. Alongside returning sharks like Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, Kunal Bahl, and Ritesh Agarwal, the upcoming season will also introduce Viraj Bahl, founder and managing director of Veeba Foods.

The much-anticipated new season of Shark Tank India will begin streaming on SonyLIV starting January 9, 2024.
