Salman Khan has significantly ramped up his security following renewed death threats linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The actor, who has been under threat for a while, recently faced heightened concerns after the murder of political figure and close friend Baba Siddique. This prompted authorities to increase his security detail, and it appears Salman himself is taking extra steps to protect his safety.
Salman Khan buys bulletproof SUV worth Rs 2 crore
As per a report by Bollywood Society, Salman Khan has purchased a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV. Since this vehicle isn’t available in India, the actor is reportedly having it imported from Dubai. The cost of the SUV is pegged at around Rs 2 crore, with additional expenses expected to expedite its delivery to India.
According to the vehicle's online specifications, the Nissan Patrol SUV comes with an array of advanced security features. These include explosive detection alerts, reinforced glass that can withstand close-range bullet fire, and darkened windows that offer camouflage, ensuring the passengers remain anonymous.
This isn't the first time Salman has made such a move. Last year, he imported another bulletproof car from the UAE after receiving his initial death threats from the same gang, alongside his father, Salim Khan.
Salman Khan returns to work
On Friday, Salman returned to the sets of Bigg Boss 18 under heavy security. It marked his first appearance since Siddique's murder last week, a crime for which the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility. Over 60 security personnel are reportedly stationed around the area, and access to the compound has been heavily restricted. Anyone entering is required to present their Aadhar card before being granted entry. Salman continues to film the show’s Weekend Ka Vaar episodes as its host, but under tight surveillance.
Salim Khan says Baba Siddique was not killed because of Salman Khan
Meanwhile, Salman’s father Salim Khan in an exclusive conversation with ABP News rubbished the speculations that Baba Siddique was closed because of his closeness with Salman. He explained that the family sees no link between the two events and finds it difficult to understand how such a connection could even be made. According to Salim Khan, if Lawrence Bishnoi is involved in Siddique's killing, it has nothing to do with Salman, as it stems from a separate issue, likely a property dispute.
