New Delhi: Two men fired gunshots outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra, Mumbai on Sunday. An FIR has been registered against "unidentified persons" under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) and the Arms Act. Following the firing, the actor has not cancelled any of his work commitments and will continue to work according to his schedule.
Salman Khan to continue his work schedule despite firing outside his house
According to India Today, Salman intends to proceed with his scheduled work commitments without any changes. Though the actor is not working on any film currently, he has a few endorsements and ad campaigns.
“Salman is very much focused on going about his work as planned earlier. He doesn’t want to give attention to those behind this firing incident because he feels that is exactly what they want. Instead, he has asked friends and actors from the industry not to worry. Further, he also asked them not to make any visits to Galaxy Apartments as it is getting inconvenient for other members of the society as well,” India Today quoted its source as saying.
The actor will also not be changing his residence and will continue to stay at Galaxy Apartments.
FIR filed, Anmol Bishnoi takes responsibility for firing
Hours after the firing outside Salman's residence, Anmol Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the event in an online post, issuing a cautionary message to the Bollywood star. Bishnoi referred to the incident as a "trailer", according to PTI.
PTI’s official source in the Delhi Police told the news agency that one of the two men is suspected to be a criminal from Gurugram who was involved in multiple killings and robberies in Haryana.
Salman got a threatening email last year
In March last year, Khan's office received a threatening email, following which Mumbai police filed an FIR against Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and another individual under IPC sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 506-II (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention).
The FIR was filed on the basis of a complaint filed by Prashant Gunjalkar. According to police reports, the email referenced an interview given by Lawrence Bishnoi to a news channel, urging Khan to watch it. It also suggested that if Khan wished to resolve the matter, he should meet ‘Goldy bhai’ face-to-face, warning of potential repercussions otherwise.
