Our wedding happened there when there was a conflict going on. One of my seniors, who was in the Assam Rifles there, also helped a lot. We went there, the family, and 4-5 friends were there. It was a very small wedding).”

Randeep Hooda says he was told how to be a good groom

Randeep and Lin got married in a traditional Meitei wedding ceremony in Imphal in November, 2023. Randeep was dressed in white outfit as a Manipuri groom, while Lin dressed in a Potloi or Polloi, a cylindrical skirt made up of thick cloth and bamboo. The wedding rituals of the two actors took place at Chumthang Shannapung resort in Imphal.

Speaking of the traditional wedding, the actor said, “Aapne ek baar wo pagdi pehen li toh aap usko haath nahi laga sakte aur koi faltu ki movement nahi kar sakte. Usne [helper] mujhe bataya ki agar tu hila, zyada idhar udhar dekha, smile kiya toh, you will not be a good Metei groom. Ek bench hota hai uspe baithna hota hai aur jitne tum still rahogey utne tum ache groom banogey. Maine kaha Jaaton mein bezzati na ho jaye. Main wahan pe tass se maas nahi hua (Once you put on that turban, you can't touch it or make any unnecessary movements. The [helper] told me that if you fidget, look around too much, or smile, you will not be a good Meitei groom. There’s a bench you have to sit on, and the stiller you remain, the better groom you’ll be. I thought, 'I hope I don’t embarrass the Jats.' I didn’t move a muscle there).”

“Pehle toh mujhe ehsaas hua brass band bajta hai jahan se, wahan pe Army wale log aur family wale log bhi, us waqt mehsoos hua ki maine itne saare role kiye, itna embarass ho gaya, chal ke ja raha hun. Mere ek dost ke paas ek baati, ek ke paas chata, ek ke paas mirror hai aur aisi teen char cheezein thi. Maine kaha ye baati kis liye, toh kaha in case you have to relieve yourself toh wahan pe tumhara koi dost chhatri lagayega and you can pee in the baati (At first, I realized where the brass band was playing; there were Army people and family members there. At that moment, I felt that I had played so many roles and was so embarrassed, walking there. One of my friends had a container, another had an umbrella, and another had a mirror, and there were three or four such things. I asked, 'What is the container for?' He said, 'In case you have to relieve yourself, one of your friends will hold the umbrella, and you can pee in the container),” he added.

Randeep also recounted the first time he saw Lin dressed as a bride when she walked into the mandap.

“Main baitha raha pure time, fir jab Lin aayi toh usko bhi nahi dekh sakta main. Pura mandap aise dekh raha hai mujhe laga pata nahi kya pehen ke aayi hai. Fir aise ghum ke idhar aayi, maine dekha she was looking so stunning. Itna sona pehna tha maine socha chalo picture ka kharcha toh isi se nikal jayega (I sat the whole time and even when Lin arrived, I couldn't look at her. The entire mandap was looking, and I wondered what she was wearing. Then, as she came around, I saw that she looked so stunning. She was wearing so much gold that I thought, 'Well, at least the cost of the pictures will be covered by this),” Randeep said.

Before getting married, Randeep and Lin never confirmed their relationship in public. However, the two often posted pictures of each other on social media. Lin added fuel to her dating rumours with Randeep by posting an adorable birthday wish for him in August 2023.
