New Delhi: Animal stars Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna joined Ranbir Kapoor in Hyderabad as they carried on with the film's promotional trip. 'Animal', which was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, explores a turbulent father-son relationship and causes Ranbir to consider his own memories of his late father, Rishi Kapoor.
Ranbir openly discussed his feelings about his relationship with his father and how playing a son in Animal affected him during the press conference in Hyderabad.
Ranbir reflected on real-life moments that influenced his role in the film and said, "I lost my father and I feel everyone who loses a parent, they feel they haven’t spent enough time with them. While I was growing up, my father was very busy. Shooting most of the time, doing double shifts, he was travelling. So, somewhere we saw him with a lot of love and respect but there was never really a friendly relationship between us. We could not just sit and chat and I have this one regret in my life that I wish I could be friends with my father. I wish I could share everything with him. That is one regret I will always live with.”
The actor further added, "But the way Sandeep has written these complex characters of me and Anil sir, Rashmika, Bobby sir. I think the way he writes is that he makes these characters so real onscreen and makes them cinematic. So whatever you see as an audience, you will connect with us. You will see so many emotions and you will be like, ‘Wow this also happened in my life.’ I as an actor while performing the scenes, felt that a lot. So, a lot of credit of this film, the attitude of characters goes to only one person here and that’s SRV.”
In addition, Bobby Deol plays the primary antagonist in Animal, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, and Shakti Kapoor. The movie, which is slated for release on December 1, is expected to compete with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur at the box office.
