Rakul Preet Recalls Husband Jackky Bhagnani's First Meeting With Her Army Officer Father: 'What's Your Plan WIth My Daughter'

New Delhi: Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani, who went public with their love in 2021, tied the knot in Goa on February 21, 2024. Rakul Preet described how her father, an Indian Army officer, interrogated her then-boyfriend and current husband Jackky when they first met in an interview with DNA.

"I believe that I was the most anxious. My dad is coming to meet you for the first time, so I prepared him. Don't make it too uncomfortable. He is not a member of the army. Then then, dads being dads—ask the obvious question. However, Jackky was ready." Rakul said.

When Rakul Preet Singh was asked if Jackky was nervous when he met his then-girlfriend's father, “I think I was the most worried. I prepped my dad and told him ‘He is coming and meeting you for the first time. Do not make it very awkward. He is not army.’ But then fathers being fathers... ask the question straight up. But Jackky was prepared.”

“He had come to Delhi for my mom’s birthday. I had prepped my dad saying don’t make it awkward because we had just started dating. I told him ‘You just see the boy’. I told Jackky not to worry because he won’t ask anything. Then we were having lunch and my dad asked him what his plan was. He started with plans for his next release Mission Raniganj. My dad just said, ‘Work and all is good but what is your plan with my daughter’. My food got stuck in my throat.” Rakul recalled the incident.

Rakul Preet continued, "Her dad became a 'fan' of Jackky after he answered the question well." Jackky had promised her dad that he would be ready "whenever she is ready."

In two separate weddings in Goa in February, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani were wed in the Anand Karaj and Sindhi styles. For their special day, they both looked stunning in wedding attire designed by Tarun Tahiliani. A number of celebrities attended Rakul Preet and Jackky's Goa wedding, including Varun Dhawan, Bhumi Pednekar, Aditya Roy Kapur, Shilpa Shetty, Ananya Pandey, and Shahid Kapoor.
