New Delhi: Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, made a cryptic announcement of his separation on X (previously Twitter). Rather than providing any background, he just requested everyone to give him some time during this difficult period. Many were left wondering whether he had really divorced his wife or if it was just a publicity stunt.

Raj Kundra shocked his followers with a post on his 'separation' yesterday night on X. Raj wrote "We have separated and kindly request you give us time during this difficult period," without mentioning his wife Shilpa or any friends and family members. He also added a prayer hand emoji and a heartbreak emoji.

He also took to Instagram stories and shared the same tweet. Shilpa, on the other hand, has not posted anything similar anywhere online.

Raj Kundra’s post appeared out of nowhere and it caused an immediate uproar on the internet. Although many people were shocked by the news, others dismissed it as a cheap publicity stunt.

One user wrote, "Come on. Lame gimmick..", while another one wrote, "Must be talking about his masks." One user also commented, "If true, good for your wife..."

A few days ago, Raj released the teaser for his first feature film, ‘UT69’. The film is based on Raj's time spent behind bars. The vast majority of people assumed that this would eventually lead to a post that somehow related to the film.

In July 2021, Raj Kundra was arrested in connection with a pornographic case, and he was subsequently imprisoned at the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. One may argue that it was the year's greatest controversy. After roughly two months behind bars, in September of that year, he was released on bail by a metropolitan magistrate. He was arrested and charged with violations of the Information Technology Act and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra tied the knot in 2009. They have two kids, Viaan and Samisha.
