New Delhi: Veteran actress Saira Banu brought attention to the wonderful connection that existed between Pran Sahab and the renowned Dilip Sahib, just as the world honours him on his birthday. In a touching tribute, she shared a story on social media in honour of the late actor Pran Sahab's birth anniversary.

In an emotional post, Saira Banu reflected on the remarkable connection that Pran and Dilip Kumar had. This bond endured and brought genuine warmth and authenticity to the Indian film business.

"Happy Birthday Pran Sahab! Pran Sahab and Sahib remained close until the very end," she wrote as a heartfelt birthday greeting.

She further added “Dilip Sahib always spoke very highly of Pran Sahab and to which he stated that "RAM AUR SHYAM WAS COMPLETED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. Its work was a jolly experience for all of us. I was working with my friend Pran in Ram Aur Shyam and Aadmi at the same time. Pran and I were friends in the real sense of the term. We met at the workplace and we met informally as often as we could either at his house or mine since we lived in the same locality: Bandra”.

"At work, we were invariably pitted against each other - our characters were always caught in a conflict over something or the other," Saira Banu said relating to Dilip Sahab's recollections of Pran from Ram Aur Shyam with Dilip Sahab.

Saira also reminisced about her time spent on set with Dilip Kumar and Pran in the forest setting of Bimal Roy's Madhumati, when they engaged in lively Punjabi conversation while the rest of the crew spoke Bengali.

She concluded the post by writing, "Sahib's friendship with Pran Sahab goes way back in time, Tomorrow, I'll add some interesting anecdotes about the twosome."
