New Delhi: After being stranded in Israel amid the Hamas attack, actor Nushrratt Bharuccha returned to Mumbai on October 8. Nushrratt went to Israel for the 39th Haifa International Film Festival, where her movie 'Akelli' was chosen for screening. The actor found herself in the midst of the turmoil as conflicts grew more intense.

Nushrratt's team confirmed the information. She was reportedly sheltering in a basement on October 7 around noon, however, specifics were kept for security reasons, according to India Today.

"We have finally managed to get in touch with Nushrratt and with the help of the Embassy, she is being safely brought back home. We did not get a direct flight so she is on a connecting flight home. For her further safety, more details cannot be shared but as soon as she lands in India, we will inform you. We are relieved and thank god that she is safe and on her way to India," the actor's team said in a statement.

However, Nushrratt was successfully flown from Israel to India on a connecting flight once the system was fixed early on October 8 morning.

Nushrratt Bharuccha has not yet addressed her dreadful experience in the war-torn country.  "I need some time," the actor told the news agency ANI.

The Islamist organisation Hamas of the Gaza Strip waged a multifront attack on Israel over the weekend, launching thousands of rockets as dozens of Hamas fighters broke across the heavily guarded border in several spots. Reportedly, Hamas' rocket attack on Israeli cities and Tel Aviv's retaliation have so far cost around 500 lives.

On the work front, Nushrratt Bharuccha's most recent film appearance was in Pranay Meshram's suspense drama 'Akelli'. A riveting survivor drama, the film tells the tale of an ordinary girl's escape from a war-torn Iraq where ISIS abuses women's dignity.
