New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor is receiving flak on the internet for his recent remark regarding marriage and how a woman enters a man's life to "fix" him. A lot of people felt that his remark was ridiculous and had nothing to do with what a happy marriage should be like.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Shahid—who is married to Mira Rajput since 2015—discussed his thoughts on marriage.

“This entire marriage thing is about one thing: is that the guy was a mess and the woman came in to fix him. So the rest of his life is going to be a journey of him getting fixed and becoming a decent person. That's pretty much what life is about,” he said.

When a video of the interview went viral, many people were taken aback by the comment. People argued that a wife's role is not to fix her husband. One person said, “I get that you played Kabir Singh but you don't have to continue behaving like that." "Lot of people think it’s cute and romantic for a ‘broken’ guy to be fixed by a girl. Such a lame trope," read another comment. Another Reddit user said, “Yes that's all we are here to do. Fix these men who refuse to grow up on their own.”

On the work front, Shahid Kapoor will be next seen in 'Bloody Daddy'. The film stars Ronit Roy and Sanjay Kapoor as the antagonists on a mission to recapture their drug cargo from Shahid. Rajeev Khandelwal, Diana Penty, Sanjay Kapoor, and Ronit Roy are among the impressive ensemble cast featured in the trailer.

Mira and Shahid tied the knot on July 7, 2015. They had a clear 13-year age difference. The couple has two kids-Misha and Zain.
