New Delhi: On Thursday, actor Sanjay Dutt honoured his mother Nargis on the occasion of her 94th birth anniversary and paid respect to the iconic actress. Sanjay Dutt shared a photo of Nargis on Instagram. Nargis is most known for appearing in films like 'Mother India', which was nominated for an Academy Award, 'Andaz', 'Barsaat', 'Shree 420', and 'Awaara.'
Born as Fatima Rashid, Nargis is regarded as one of the greatest actors of all times, who worked across genres– from comedy to drama. The actor started her journey in films as a leading actor in the early 40s and went on to act till 1967, which marked her last film appearance in the psychological drama Raat Aur Din.
Sanjay Dutt shared a black and white picture of the stellar actress and wrote, "To my guiding light, happy birthday, Mom. I love you and miss you always."
Sanjay Dutt's wife Manyata reacted to the post with "❤️🙌" while his daughter Trishala reacted with kiss emojis.
Tragically, Nargis passed away suddenly in 1981 from pancreatic cancer just a few days before Sanjay Dutt's debut movie Rocky hit theatres.

On the occasion of her mother's 94th birth anniversary, Priya Dutt also shared an endearing post on her Instagram. She wrote, "Happy birthday, to my angel, I can't see her but that's OK, my senses feel her presence every step of the way, I know her physical form left me years ago. Her laughter, her warmth her loving care she has left these beautiful memories even though she isnt there, but her essence remains with me everywhere.

On professional front, Sanjay Dutt most recently appeared in the blockbuster K.G.F: Chapter 2 and will next be seen in the action film Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan in a supporting role.
