New Delhi: In a candid conversation, actor Sara Ali Khan delved into how her upbringing with a single mother influenced her perspective on life. Sara, the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, shared insights into her formative years and the valuable lessons learned from her mother's resilience.

"Living with a single mother has a huge role to play in it," Sara told in a conversation with ETimes, reflecting on her early realisation of self-reliance.

She reflected on the importance of self-reliance and initiative. Sara said, "At a very early age, I realised koi aapke liye kuchh karne nahi wala (nobody is going to do anything for you). It’s not that I don’t get help, I do. But ultimately, you are the mover and initiator of your life."

She also added, “If you are lucky, stars align and God wills, then it will happen. You can’t be waiting around for things to happen, it doesn’t work like that.”

In a previous interview with News18, Sara candidly shared her thoughts on the profound impact her parents have had on her life. Speaking about her mother, she revealed, "Visualising life without mom to any degree is what scares me the most. Most often the one thing that I can definitely rely on is that mom is the reason to wake up.”
