How Mukesh Chhabra met Sushant Singh Rajput
Mukesh recalled, “Sushant was not just an actor for me, he’s a very close friend. Someone who blindly trusted me and said yes to my first film ( Dil Bechara ) and the way I trusted him for his first film ‘Kai Po Che’.”
Talking about the audition process of the film, he said, “‘Kai Po Che’ happened 9 years ago in 2013. I met him through Shobha, and then after I met him at a cafe in Versova. I called him for ‘Kai Po Che’ audition and he was so good in the audition that we re-auditioned him three-four times.”
The casting director also revealed that some famous celebs were shortlisted for the film. He said, “We shortlisted so many people, including Vijay Verma, Angad Bedi, Ali Fazal, and Ayushmann Khurrana. That was one of the greatest casting experiences because very few were launching three boys in one film at that time.”
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his flat on June 14, 2020. His last film was ‘Dil Bechara’.
