The series titled 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' is based on the life of courtesans in the pre-independence era. Manisha Koirala essays the role of Mallikajaan, the chief courtesan and the mother of Bibbojaan and Alamzeb essayed by Aditi Rao Hydari and Shermin Sehgal, respectively. 


The intriguing trailer of Bhansali's series transports audiences to the lively district of Heeramandi, where the formidable Mallikajaan, brought to life by Manisha Koirala, reigns supreme over a prestigious establishment of courtesans. Mallikajaan faces a fresh hurdle with the sudden reappearance of Fareedan, portrayed by Sonakshi Sinha, the offspring of her deceased rival, stirring up tensions within the household.


Amidst mounting betrayals and the collision of forbidden desires with societal conventions, the struggle for India's liberation during the pre-independence era reaches a pivotal moment. Against this turbulent canvas, Mallikajaan and Fareedan are thrust into an epic showdown for the esteemed title of the huzoor, or the lady, of Heeramandi.
