Fugitive businessman and IPL founder Lalit Modi has once again made headlines, this time for his personal life. Taking to Instagram on Valentine’s Day, Modi shared a video montage introducing his new love interest.

Lalit Modi shares video with his "love"

While he kept the identity of his new partner under wraps, Modi shared that their relationship is built on a long-standing friendship spanning 25 years. Expressing his joy, he wrote, “Lucky Once – Yes. But I got lucky TWICE. When a 25-year friendship turns to LOVE. It happened twice. Hope it does for you all too. #happyvalentinesday to you all.” The video showcases glimpses of the couple’s moments together, from vibrant parties to serene beach vacations, interwoven with nostalgic photos from their years of friendship.

Modi’s past relationships have often been in the public eye. He was previously married to Minal Modi, who passed away in 2018 after battling cancer. In 2022, he made waves on social media when he publicly declared his relationship with Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, sharing snapshots of their luxurious getaways to the Maldives and Sardinia.

At the time, he described Sushmita as his “better half” and hinted at marriage in the future. “Just back in London after a whirling global tour #Maldives #Sardinia with the families – not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 – a new beginning, a new life finally. Over the moon. 🥰😘😍😍🥰💕💞💖💘💓,” he had posted. However, their romance seemingly faded, as speculation about their breakup began when Modi removed her name from his Instagram bio and profile picture in September 2022.

Unlike Modi’s open declaration, Sushmita Sen neither confirmed nor denied their relationship. The actress had previously been in a relationship with model Rohman Shawl, with whom she announced an amicable split in 2021 while continuing to remain close friends.
