New Delhi: Influencer-turned-actor Kusha Kapila made headlines last year after her divorce from her husband Zorawar Ahluwalia. For the unversed, Kusha rose to fame on the web as a result of her comedic videos, many of which included her ex-husband. Nonetheless, Kusha offered a fresh viewpoint in a recent interview, urging content makers to refrain from sharing their personal lives on the internet.
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Kusha Kapila was asked what she would advice newbies or existing content creators. To which, she replied, “Don't share your personal life. Unless that's what you want to build your content on, do not do that. If your main gig is doing different kinds of comedy sketches, you do characters, limit it to that. That is all you need. Your talent will take you whatever it needs to take.”
Kusha added that as the first generation of creators, their actions had unintended repercussions. She presented herself as a "road map" for others to follow. “I think we were also like so first generation of creators that we didn't realise what the consequences would be. So, let us be the road map girl! We made the mistake, so you don't have. So, you don't do it,” Kusha said.
Kusha Kapila On The Concept Of "Settling Down"
In the same conversation, Kusha shared what she has to ‘unlearn’ the concept of settling down. She said, “I think the biggest thing that I unlearn is that settling down is nothing. It's all thoughts, ideas and constructs. You settle yourself whatever your definition of settling is and that is good."
Kusha quickly came to the realisation that she needed to depend on herself. She added, “When I had shifted to Mumbai, especially I thought that I would need people to get through this transition. I needed myself. Then, I needed to figure out stuff that I like and that was enough. So, I think the best friend I have made in the last one year is me, myself. I am so glad because I have got to know myself so well and I am glad that I always have a friend by my side.”
