Comedian Kunal Kamra recently claimed that he was approached to participate in the upcoming season of the reality show 'Bigg Boss', hosted by Salman Khan. Kamra took to Instagram Stories to share a screenshot of a conversation with a casting director who allegedly offered him the opportunity to join the show.
The message from the casting agent read:
“I am handling the casting for this season of Bigg Boss, and your name came up as someone they might find interesting. I know it might not have been on your radar, but honestly, it’s such a mad platform to show your real vibe and win over a massive audience. What do you think? Should we talk about it?”
Reacting to the message, Kamra responded with a tongue-in-cheek remark:
“I would much rather check into a mental hospital…”He also accompanied the screenshot with background music from Salman Khan’s film Radhe.
However, it remains unclear whether Kamra was approached for 'Bigg Boss OTT' or 'Bigg Boss Season 19'.
Kunal Kamra Files Petition in Bombay High Court to Quash FIRs Over Remarks on Eknath Shinde
Separately, Kamra has moved the Bombay High Court, seeking to quash multiple FIRs filed against him for allegedly making derogatory remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The FIRs, which were transferred to Khar Police Station, are being challenged by the comedian as baseless and in violation of his right to free speech.
In his plea, Kamra also urged the court to direct online ticketing platforms to refrain from delisting him from artist line-ups, or alternatively, provide access to historical data regarding his show viewership. He claimed that the action taken against him is part of a targeted attempt to suppress dissenting voices in the comedy space.
The court has yet to hear the matter.
