New Delhi: Actor Karan Tacker will be making his Cannes Film Festival debut as a member of the cast of ‘Tanvi: The Great’, which is helmed by seasoned actor and director Anupam Kher. Following its triumphant premiere at the UK Asian Film Festival earlier this year, the film represents a major turning point in Karan's career as he makes his debut at one of the most prestigious international film festivals.
Karan Tacker has gradually established himself as one of the most emotionally impactful performers of his age, thanks to his captivating performances on digital platforms. In ‘Tanvi: The Great’, the actor characterises his unique appearance as Captain Samar Raina.
Karan Tacker On His Cannes Debut
Regarding his debut at Cannes 2025, Karan revealed: “I'm honoured to be debuting at Cannes, a festival I've revered throughout my career. To have Tanvi: The Great screen there feels surreal — not just because it's a story that moved me deeply, but because it demanded everything from me emotionally and artistically."
He went on to say: “I’ve always believed in the slow burn — in doing work that lasts, that leaves something behind. This screening at Cannes is a culmination of years of quiet hustle, learning, unlearning, and pushing myself to find stories that matter. I feel incredibly grateful to be here, not just as an actor, but as a cinema lover witnessing the world’s best come together to celebrate storytelling in its raw form.”
After more than 20 years, Anupam Kher returns to the director's chair in ‘Tanvi: The Great’. Kher, Ankur Suman, and Abhishek Dixit co-wrote the movie, which was produced by Anupam Kher Studio in association with Lower Middle Class Corporation and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
As far as Karan Tacker’s career is concerned, he just finished the last schedule in London for the forthcoming thriller ‘Bhay’ on Prime Video.
