New Delhi: Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali's son Mahaakshay Chakraborty, known as Mimoh, has opened up about the mental and emotional toll of being targeted in the film industry due to his family background. The actor, who has been in films like 'Haunted 3D' and 'Khakee: The Bengal Chapter', recently spoke with Bollywood Bubble about the hurtful comments he tolerated as a result of his work and his family's stellar acting careers.
Mimoh remembered times when famous people in the business made fun of his family, especially his father, Mithun Chakraborty, by bringing attention to themselves via their work.
He shared, “The meanest things were like they were making fun of my mom. I would understand for my dad, yes, carrying his legacy. Mere zariye, they were insulting dad, because you cannot pinpoint and say ki Mithun Chakraborty isme kharab tha. It’s because his legacy is so strong, toh unko laga chalo Mimoh ke through humlog Mithun Chakraborty ko bhi gaali de denge."
Insults Extended to Mother Yogeeta Bali
The 40-year-old actor said that his mother was openly made fun of by others in the profession. "Forget normal people, audience, it was people from the industry jo khule aam jaake mom ka mazaak uda rahe the. And it became a little too much for me. Ki yaar mere tak thik hai, dad tak thik hai, but mom pe mat jaao, You know. But then I know we all go through this," said Mimoh.
Regardless of the criticism, Mimoh wanted to be recognised for who he was and go on. The actor concluded, “Now, when you see Khakee, I was in it, I cannot compete with my father, and I don’t want to compete with him. I just want to be Mimoh."
