New Delhi: Bollywood director Karan Johar recently candidly discussed his challenges as a single parent to his twins, Yash and Roohi. During the 'Fab Reunion' session for Season 3 of Netflix’s ‘Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives’, Karan Johar shared his anxieties about how his children will respond when they learn about his parenting circumstances. His heartfelt remarks highlight the emotional complexities of navigating parenthood in the public eye.
Reflecting on his emotional parenthood journey, Karan Johar said, “My constant fear is that I also have to deal with those questions from my own children, about my circumstances and that I have a modern family situation."
He went on to talk about how an emotional episode of Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives S3 had struck a chord with him when Neelam discussed her divorce. He said, “I was pretty much a large part of that phase of your (Neelam Kothari) life. That really moved me because I remember those days so clearly. I really teared up, I was actually connecting to it on an emotional level. You spoke about your daughter and that’s also something that struck a chord with me.”
Karan said that being a single father was difficult when he had twins via surrogacy in 2017. He said, “They will find out things and I will have to be answerable. Being a single parent, I know I am answerable to my children about so many aspects. Thank you for sharing that Neelam, it was really beautiful."
