New Delhi: After leaving her imprint on Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut has now put her feet in politics. The actress recently found herself in the middle of trolling after she compared herself to superstar Amitabh Bachchan. In spite of the backlash she received for her comment, the actor-turned-politician has now instead publicly defended herself.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the ‘Manikarnika’ actress defended herself against trolls. She questioned if not her after Amitabh Bachchan then who is getting the most amount of love and respect in India.

Kanagana posted a screenshot of a news article and wrote, “I clearly mentioned Bharat and its various states where I get overwhelming love and reception as an artist for my art as well as my integrity as a nationalist, not just my acting but my work for woman empowerment is widely appreciated.”She further questioned, “I have a question for those who have an objection, if not me after Big B, who gets most amount of love and respect from hindi films in Bharat? Khans? Kapoors? Who??? Can I also know please, I would correct myself.”

What was Kangana Ranaut’s statement?

In a viral speech, she can be heard saying, “Sara desh hairaan hai, ki Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jaun, chahe mai Bengal chali jaun, chahe mai Delhi chali jaun, chahe mai Manipur chali jaun, aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan… Mein daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industry me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai.”

Kangana Ranaut is set to make her political debut. She has been fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh in the ongoing general polls. On the work front, she is looking forward for her upcoming film  ‘Emergency’ which will be released in cinemas on June 14, 2024.
