New Delhi: Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan and fitness trainer Nupur Shikhare got married by signing the marriage registration document in the presence of friends and family at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai on January 3. The major highlight of the wedding was the groom jogging 8km to reach the wedding venue and getting married in a vest and shorts. Nupur has now shared why he chose to jog to the venue on his wedding day
Ira and Nupur have shared a video on Instagram of the wedding. In the video, Nupur is seen running and sharing that he has an emotional connection to the route. "From my house to Ira's house, I used to run. I have a very special connect to this route. Emotional reason,” he said.
He then reached the wedding venue, rushed to the stage and hugged Aamir Khan and Ira. After they exchanged vows, Ira jokingly said, "Now the moment we have all been waiting for, Popeye is going to shower. Goodbye.”. Nupur replied, "Following my wife's orders already."
The caption on the video read, "From finishing the Iron Man four times to being Ira's man forever, Nupur chose to run to their wedding venue for a very emotional reason that is close to the couple's heart. A little glimpse into the beautiful vibe of the day that Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare chose to officially become husband and wife."
Meanwhile, the wedding festivities of the couple are currently underway in Udaipur. After the mehendi ceremony today (January 8), a pajama party will also be held in the Grand Ballroom starting at 10:00 PM.
On January 9, at 7:00 PM, a music ceremony will be organized in the Mevad Lawn of the hotel, where Aamir Khan and family members will also perform.
On January 10, the couple will get married in Marathi customs and traditions. The wedding ceremony will commence at 4:00 PM in the Mayur Bagh of the hotel followed by a dinner service for guests in the Mayur Bagh.
The wedding will feature a blend of Gujarati, Rajasthani, Marathi, and Punjabi cuisines.
