Actor Govinda was questioned by the Juhu Police regarding an incident in which he accidentally shot himself. Sources revealed that the actor told the police that the revolver, which he has owned for 20 years, was unlocked while he was cleaning it, leading to a misfire.

Police sources said that, at first glance, they do not suspect foul play in the incident. However, they remain unconvinced by Govinda's story and may seek to record his statement again shortly. 


Mumbai Police recorded actor Govinda's statement yesterday between 4 and 5 PM as part of their ongoing investigation. He is expected to stay in the hospital today and is likely to be discharged tomorrow. Police also spoke to other family members present at his home prior to questioning Govinda. Further investigation is underway. 


Bollywood celebrities, including film director David Dhawan, actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, visited injured Govinda at a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday.

After meeting Govinda, Shatrughan Sinha spoke to the media and said, "He is stable, his condition is good... It was an accident. There are no ifs and buts in accidents...He received treatment.”


Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg


Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg with his own revolver on Tuesday around 4:45 AM while inspecting the weapon before leaving the city. The actor and chief Sena leader is currently recovering in a critical care unit at a Mumbai hospital.


After the incident, Govinda released a voice note to the press, reassuring both the media and his fans that he is in good health. 


“Namaskar, pranaam, main hoon Govinda, aap sab logon ke aashirwad aur maa-baap ka aashirwad, guru ki kripa ke wajah se goli lagi thi par woh nikaal di gayi hai. Main dhanyavad deta hoon yahan ke doctor ka, aadarniya doctor Agarwal ji ka aur aap sab logon ki prarthana jo hai, aap logon ka dhanyavad, pranaam (I am Govinda. Thanks to your blessings, my parents’ blessings, and the grace of my guru, I was shot, but the bullet has been taken out. I thank the doctors here, especially Dr. Agarwal, and I appreciate all your prayers),” he said.
