Shah Rukh Khan is undoubtedly the "King of Romance," while his wife, Gauri Khan, is regarded as the "Queen of Design." Over the years, Gauri has established herself as a top-tier interior designer, crafting luxurious spaces for high-profile clients like Mukesh Ambani, Roberto Cavalli, Ralph Lauren, and Karan Johar. Her brand, 'Gauri Khan Designs', is highly respected in the world of home decor and architecture.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri's love story

In addition to her success in the design world, Gauri holds a special place in Shah Rukh Khan's life. The two met when SRK was just 18 and fell in love with the stunning Gauri Chibber, who would become the only woman he ever dated. Despite facing challenges, including religious differences—Gauri came from a Hindu Brahmin family, while Shah Rukh is Muslim—they married in 1991 after overcoming these obstacles. Together, they have three children: Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.

One of the humorous moments from their early days involved Gauri temporarily changing Shah Rukh’s name to "Abhinav" to ease the concerns of her parents, who were initially against their marriage due to religious differences. Gauri shared this story in a throwback interview on 'First Ladies', hosted by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

How Shah Rukh pranked Gauri's parents

Shah Rukh also shared a prank he pulled on their wedding day in an old talk show with actress Farida Jalal. He jokingly asked Gauri to wear a burqa, saying: “OK Gauri, put on your ‘burqa’ and let’s read the namaaz now.” This lighthearted remark left her relatives stunned, wondering if he had already changed her religion.

Gauri Khan's professional front

Professionally, Gauri has excelled as a businesswoman, proving her skills in both interior design and film production. She co-owns the production house Red Chillies Entertainment with Shah Rukh, and in 2012, she launched her own furniture line, The Charcoal Project.

Later, in 2017, she opened her own flagship store, Gauri Khan Designs, known for its contemporary and chic interiors.
