New Delhi: Popular fashion designer Rohit Bal died at the age of 63 on Friday. Industrialist Gautam Singhania took to X and shared the news of the fashion designer's death.


He wrote, "Heartbroken to say goodbye to an incredible friend. You brought so much light, laughter, and kindness into the lives of everyone around you. I’m grateful for every moment we shared, every laugh, every conversation. You’ll be missed beyond words, but your spirit will live on in all of us. Rest peacefully, my friend."






Rohit Bal was suffering from a heart ailment since last year


Bal had been dealing with a heart condition since last year. In November 2023, he was hospitalised in the intensive care unit at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

Earlier this year, he returned to work and presented his last collection at Lakme India Fashion Week in Delhi last month. Ananya Panday was the showstopper of the show. Rohit looked very weak at the fashion show, leaving fans worried for his health.


FDCI mourns Rohit Bal's death


The Fashion Design Council Of India (FDCI) also posted a message on Instagram mourning the death of the celebrated fashion designer. The caption read, "We mourn the passing of Legendary designer Rohit Bal. He was a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI). Known for his unique blend of traditional patterns with modern sensibilities, Bal’s work redefined Indian fashion, and inspired generations. His legacy of artistry, and innovation along with forward thinking will live on in the fashion world.
