In a recent interview with Filmfare, Shalini opened up about her personal relationships with Bollywood’s power couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Shalini’s husband, Sanjay Passi, and Shah Rukh Khan were college mates at Hansraj College in Delhi, a fact that has helped foster a long-standing friendship between the families.

When discussing Shah Rukh Khan, Shalini expressed admiration for his enduring impact on global audiences, noting how his influence stretches across all age groups. “You wouldn’t find anyone who has inspired audiences who have just started watching movies to someone who is 80. He’s a phenomenon,” she said, acknowledging SRK’s universal appeal and his lasting presence in the industry.
One of the qualities that Shalini admires most about Shah Rukh is his passion for reading. “I never read, and he ends up reading so many books in one go,” she remarked. Shalini also spoke about how much she respects Shah Rukh’s parenting style and his remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome with his hospitality.

She also shared that Gauri has been incredibly supportive of her journey on Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. “After watching the first few episodes, she called me and said that she loved it and that she was proud of me," Shalini recalled, clearly touched by Gauri's words of encouragement.
While some of her friends had concerns about her direct and no-nonsense persona, especially her reluctance to engage in petty gossip or drama, Shalini’s down-to-earth nature has clearly struck a chord with viewers.
