Diljit Dosanjh recently paused his performance in Ahmedabad when he noticed some fans watching his show from a hotel balcony without purchasing concert tickets.
Diljit Dosanjh talks to fans watching his concert for free
In a video circulating on social media, Diljit was seen performing when he spotted the fans and stopped singing. Gesturing for his team to stop the music, he remarked, “Yeh jo hotel ki balcony mein baithe hai, aap ka toh bara accha bhi hoya. Yeh hotel waale game kar gaye (Those who are sitting in the hotel balcony, this is good for you. The hotel outsmarted us). Without tickets, huh?"
The Ahmedabad concert was part of Diljit’s 'Dil-Luminati India Tour', which spans 10 cities across India. The tour began with a grand show in Delhi, followed by Jaipur and Hyderabad.
Before his Hyderabad performance, Diljit received a notice from the Telangana government instructing him not to perform songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence. The notice also prohibited the use of children during the event and highlighted the potential harm of loud sounds and flashing lights to children.
Addressing this during his Ahmedabad show, Diljit responded to the Telangana government’s notice, saying he would stop singing about alcohol if there were a nationwide ban on it. “Jitni bhi states hai humare yaha, agar woh saari apne aap ko dry state ghoshith kardeti hai, agle hi din Diljit Dosanjh apni life mein kabhi sharab pe gaana nahi gayega. Main pran karta hoon. Hosakta yeh? Bohut bada revenue hai yeh. Corona mein sab bandh hogaya tha, theke bandh nahi hue the. Kya baatein kar rahe ho aap? Aap youth ko fuddu nahi bana sakte," he said.
