New Delhi: ‘Animal’, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has broken records and became one of the most financially successful Hindi films of 2023, earning over Rs 920 crore throughout the globe. Bobby Deol's performance as the film's antagonist was also one of the most talked-about parts of the film, as his entry dance to the song ‘Jamal Kudu’ went viral.

Bobby Deol recently discussed the origins of the now-iconic dance move in his appearance on third edison of Screen. The actor claims that his childhood recollections of visiting Punjab served as inspiration for the film. "I started dancing in my signature style," he added. Vanga, however, had a distinct idea for his role and told Bobby, "Cut, I don't want my character to look like Bobby Deol; I want it to look like Abrar."

Bobby sought advice from his on-screen brother, Saurabh Sachdeva, and asked him how he would dance. Bobby started to dance to the music, and he remembered how the style had taken him to his youth in Punjab. He shared, "As a child, I used to go to Punjab during our summer and winter holidays. At night, the men would drink, and suddenly a music would play, and they would dance to it by putting glasses and bottles to their heads."

To his surprise, Bobby's dancing style became very popular, as he reflected on the dance step's enormous popularity. “I had no idea my style of dancing would become so popular. I just put the glass on my head and I started dancing, next thing I knew, it just went viral. It’s just amazing,” the actor said.
